Brother & Sister

Here are a few pics I took of Noah's friend and her adorable baby brother during their Christmas party at school. He was definitely the star of the show!

Trip to the Aquarium

Last Friday Noah had parent teacher conference so after our meeting, which went very well by the way, (straight A's, works diligently, gets all his work done quickly and correctly, excellent reader and a joy to have in class) he had the rest of the day off. I decided to do something fun and take the kids to the aquarium. The kids love to go, we have a yearly pass that gets us into the botanical gardens, the aquarium and the zoo. Sierra's favorite are the Sting Rays and Noah loves the sharks. We had a great time! Top that off with a lunch at Taco Cabana and it was the perfect day.

I took these outside before we left :) I am so proud of him!

Downtown Durango

Durango is so pretty. It reminds me of when I was growing up. Sometimes we would stay here for the fourth of July and almost every year we would come in the fall and ride the train that goes from Durango to Silverton. We took the kids on the train two years ago and I think we will try to keep the same tradition for them. We ate lunch at the beautiful Strater Hotel (I had the chicken pot pie and it was delicious). We looked around at the shops and of course the kids got the hot chocolate we promised them! The last thing we did was let the kids go to the toy store and pick something out. We really had a wonderful trip, I'm so glad we went. It was nice to just spend quality time with the family, no distractions (like my computer). I really needed that and I think the kids did too. Noah kept saying that he was in heaven and this was the best vacation he ever had!

Sierra playing with the old time phone at the hotel and tyring to get a newspaper...

This was the crazy toy Noah picked! It starts out a really small ball and then you can stretch it out this big.
My gorgeous parents...
Thanks dad for taking the ones of us, I love them!

Durango Mountain

Saturday Craig went to Durango Mountain to snowboard. We all met him up there for lunch. It was snowing like crazy and freezing cold! The kids loved it. We had to park at the very bottom in an overflow parking lot and ride the bus to the top of the mountain. I'm not sure Sierra liked the noise and the bumpy ride!

When we got back my dad took the kids outside to build a snowman! It was still snowing....

Silverpick Lodge

This was the first night of our stay. After we checked in and unloaded our stuff we ate dinner at the Sow's Ear. Weird name but it was so yummy (not to mention soooo expensive).

This was the view from the restaurant. It was so beautiful!
I went out on the balcony and took these photos. They would be better if I had a wide angle lens, oh yeah, and if I didn't always forget my tripod.

Here is where we stayed...
The first morning we made blueberry pancakes, bacon and eggs. Breakfast was sooo good. The kids even played nice and watched cartoons together!
Then when it warmed up a little and we all went out and played in the snow! (I didn't even notice until I was editing that Sierra's pants were falling off :)
Noah was laughing because he had just hit my mom with a snowball and the one where it looks like my mom is hitting Sierra in the head is so funny. She was just throwing snow at her. (My dad took the one of me and Craig)

Don't you love how she is trying to carry a snowball bigger then her? She cracks me up!

More from our trip...

Here are more of my favorite individual portraits I took on our trip. The balcony on our cabin had this really cool metal siding. Every time I would get bored I would grab someone and take their picture. I will have more from our trip the next couple of days!

A real smile! (He is holding a giant ice cycle)

This is his, I love you mom and I love when you take my picture all the time look! LOL

I love the way she is smiling! (she looks like she is about to do something mischievous)

My super handsome husband even let me take some of him.
He really has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen!
And of course my super handsome husband took a few of me...
Another one with her hood on, I love it.
This is my favorite picture of my dad! (he was pretending to be in awe of the snow and mountains) Maybe he wasn't pretending, my dad really does love beautiful scenery. Sometimes when we are on a trip he will take the long way just to see the landscape.
I really like these too... I LOVE you dad!
