Shepard Family {Albuquerque Family Photographer}

I had the pleasure of working with this beautiful family while I was in California. They were so much fun. Their adorable little boy is eighteen months old and man did he have a lot of energy! I definitely got a workout. We had to stay one step ahead of him and play games to get him to the spots we wanted. My friend Tammy got to play my assistant for the day and helped me get some big smiles. Here are my favorites from their session.

This first picture cracks me up because you can tell he is already done with this pose and on to exploring again...
So handsome...

I LOVE this one...

Off and running again :)
Gorgeous mom and dad...
OK, I want some nice calves like this...

So sweet...
My fave...

Back from California

Tammy and I had a BLAST on our trip! A shout out to Jeff, Mo and Hadley (Tammy's brother in law, sister and 6 month old niece) for letting us stay in their gorgeous home in Sunnyvale. And to Jeff for the amazing Salmon dinner and special hot cocoa he made for us, soooooooo good! Mo and Kelly (their cousin) went to the Sandy Puc seminar with Tammy and me. It focused on photographing children to teens. If you get a chance to attend one you really should. Next year is all about families and I am really excited about that one!

Sunday we went shopping at the mall and then headed to Santa Cruz to take some pictures of Jeff, Mo and Hadley on the beach. The board walk was closed because it was a little cold and windy but that was great because we had the beach all to ourselves!

On Monday Mo was so sweet to drive us to San Francisco and to Sausalito where we had lunch and picked up some goodies for the kids. Then we headed to Cuesta Park for sessions Tammy and I had booked with two adorable 18 month olds and their families. I am working on those so I will have some to share soon!

This is how Tammy and I feel when we are on vacation in California with no kids! (we really missed them though)....taken by Mo Fay

Spring is just around the corner!

Sierra played outside most of the afternoon digging in the dirt and playing in her little house. It has been in the seventies the last two days! I am so excited for Spring...

Love this one because she doesn't look at me very often when I have my camera...I can't believe how grown up she looks here...sigh :)
The peach tree in our back yard is starting to bloom!

New backdrop {Albuquerque Portrait Photographer)

My friend Tammy and I got a new backdrop so we decided to try it out with our two littlest ones. Let's just say that out of 135 images these are the ones that turned out! Why oh why is my beautiful daughter the hardest person in the world to get photos of? All I can say is, thank you Tammy for helping me chase her over and over again.

Tammy's daughter (Is she just gorgeous or what?) I can't believe she will be two soon...
This is her I don't want to be here look...Wait, she is warming up a little...Silly smile, I think she has been taking lessons from her friend Brittany...My fave...don't you just wonder what she is thinking about here?So cute, they both have the same Paul Frank monkey shirts on (not that you can tell)...the only way we could get them to sit together was to bribe them with candy (I had to tell the truth, you can totally tell by the way Sierra is holding her hand out, ha)Ok, I so know what they are telling each other right here..."our mom's are crazy, why don't they just let us run and play like normally little girls"Sierra hanging like a monkey...

Sierra

My baby girl is not feeling well today. She has a fever and runny nose...again! I took this picture at dinner, not the best background but she looks so cute. When I asked her to pray she closed her eyes tightly and started singing, "twinkle, twinkle, little star". I think she is a little confused about prayer. We all tried not to laugh but it was hilarious! I hope you feel better sweet girl...

taken by Tammy Staley...

One of the coolest things about having a photographer as one of your BEST friends is getting awesome pictures of yourself and your kids (before I met her I think I had...like one). I have so many of them that I love but here are a few of my faves...

Me and my handsome son Noah (I can't believe he will be eight soon!)

Just hanging out at the laundry mat (doesn't everyone do that?)...
I love this one, I got a new light and we were practicing our night photography (I don't think she needed any practice!) Thanks Tammy :)

Ruidoso Trip

We are back from Ruidoso! We stayed here. I wish I had more awesome pictures to show you but our time outside and downtown was limited because of all the crazy WIND. I really only got to take pictures inside the restaurants and downtown for five minutes. I had visions of taking some cool shots of the kids downtown with their colorful outfits and the beautiful sun shinning and the blue sky up above but that didn't happen. It was WINDY, dreary and cloudy. Oh well, we got away and had fun with the kids and that is all that matters.

I can't lie though, Craig was bugged with me. He says I always have my camera and we can't ever just have fun and not worry about pictures. Does anyone else have this problem? I know my family gets tired of it (especially Noah and Craig) but I have a sickness that can't be curred. I am willing to try but I need your help. Please schedule a session soon if you have been thinking about it so I can give them a break, LOL!

OK, back to our trip. Noah and Sierra's favorite part was swimming in the indoor pool. They have been begging to go swimming all winter so that was a real treat. We also had lots of fun at the gorgeous hotel. The landscape is just beautiful. I took the kids to the lake on the property to skip rocks and check out the ducks. I have a few photos of that I will share soon.

Here is some of the yummy and oh so healthy food we ate and Sierra sucking on a lemon, she cracks me up... (the connoli dessert was my fave!)

This one is so cute, Sierra is taking Craig's picture with her toy camera...

I promise I brushed my hair when I woke up, you just can't tell here!

A few I took in our hotel room...

Swings

My dad met us at the park the other day. He had fun playing with Sierra on the swings. It was so funny, I wish you could have heard her laughing!

We are going on a little trip this weekend. Woo Hoo, I am so excited! We are leaving tomorrow and will be back Saturday evening. I will post some photos when we get home.
